Lord,
I know that you are always with me. I praise you for your constant and never-ending presence that dwells within me and around me. When I sit down and when I rise up, you are there.
As Psalm 139:7-10 says, “I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me.”
You have never left me alone – not for one moment in my life. You extended your love toward me in the hour of my deepest pain and the hour of my greatest joy. When I am tempted to believe differently, remind me of the truth that you hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me.
You are my greatest companion Lord and your friendship blesses me everyday. It is the joy of my life to walk through each day with you by my side. I trust you to lead the way.
Thank you for choosing me, loving me, and walking with me. Even when I am not fully aware of your presence.
I ask for a deeper awareness of your presence and love in my day-to-day life. I ask for you to comfort me in loneliness. Bring community into my life to walk with me as I follow you. Fill the emptiness within me with the joy of your presence.
Help me to remember the words of David in Psalm 16:8 when he wrote, “I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.”
