“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” - Isiah 26:3
“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:7
Jesus,
Your word says that you will hold in perfect peace those whose hearts trust in you.
Even now, will you help me explore the areas of my heart that are lacking peace? Reveal to me the places that I could lean more fully into you. In a world filled with distractions that vie for our attention, teach me how to “stay my mind on you” as I trust in you, Jesus. Show me what it looks like to center my life on You every day so that when the winds of life begin to pick up around me, the gaze of my heart remains steadfastly locked on you.
My desire is to trust you fully, and I know sometimes that comes with experience. So whatever you and I walk through together today, Lord, will you remind me of your presence as we go?
I will do my best to be attentive, but will you also give me eyes to see and ears to hear and a heart to notice your nearness and peace?
I want to be more aware of your presence than I am of anything that has the power to scare me. When things threaten me, would you guard my heart with your peace, Jesus? I know that as my awareness of you grows, so too will my trust in you.
Thank you for your patience as I learn to trust in the reality of your goodness and the truth of your trustworthiness.
Amen
